Fantastic Service - Thank you so much!

Big Thanks to Deaton Yacht Services for helping us with our sailboat. We were very impressed with the prompt service as well as knowledgeable and helpful staff. We had them do an oil change, troubleshoot an oil leak, a faulty oil pressure unit, and solve a rigging problem for us. Most of all, we are relieved that our issues have been solved and the boat is ready to go. Wag and Tim were both a wealth of knowledge and provided many usedful tips. They got us in and out in a day! The facilities, by the way, are really clean and nice. Shower with hot water, laundry, a cruiser's lounge with tv. And it is a short walk into Oriential for restaurants. It was only about a mile to the south end of town. There is a courtesy car here too. We were able to use it to zip out for some groceries. If your boat has any issues, we highly recommend Deaton Yacht Service. Be sure to call ahead if possible - they are busy for a reason!


Deaton’s is the perfect yard! My boat arrived at the Tartan factory in perfect shape, with everything labeled and in order. Even the truck driver said they are the best yard he has worked with.

Thanks so much for the work you did on Gypsy Soul. Over two years of cruising have proved that the work was all done correctly and has held up under some rough conditions! We are especially happy with our 12volt system…the battery bank, solar panels and wind generator all worked well together and provided us with many quiet (no motor running!) evenings at anchor. Our boating friends marvel at the way our watermaker is installed – all easily accessible but taking hardly any storage space. It was great working with you all. Tom and Susan

Dear John & Karen,

What a delightful surprise it was to discover the lovely lighted tree, with presents beneath it, waiting for us in the lounge on Christmas morning! We were extremely touched by your thoughtful and generous kindness.
Thank you for the fresh-baked bread; it did not last long! Not only was it delicious, it had an excellent texture. Thanks, too, for the games. While they were for the kids, they will be enjoyed by all of us. Train dominoes has already been played quite often!

While we were eager to move along from Oriental, it was only because of our longer goal of getting south. There could not have been a better place to be “stuck” for five weeks. We grew quite fond of Deatons while there. Your commitment to quality is evident in all you do and in the cheerful nature of your employees. It is clearly a great place to work, and all the people are just so nice. Breakfast just doesn’t feel quite right without Gary in the engine compartment.

Thanks again for all the great work and for making our Christmas even more special. We wish you all the best in 2014.
