Deaton
History
After moving to Oriental, NC in 1979 Bob Deaton, a
native of North Carolina, saw the need for a full service
boat yard for the locals as well as the Intra Coastal Waterway
traffic coming through this small harbor town. Soon after,
Bob's father Ralph and his brother John joined the business.
Together, as a team, they have developed a first class boatyard.
Deaton's also offers sail boats and power boats for sale in
the yacht brokerage.

Through the past 25 years we have grown and adapted
to the changing needs of our customers. Our focus has
been geared toward improvement of our facility and service
to our customers. Over all these years we have learned
a lot about the day to day operation of a boatyard.
We realized the importance of having a professional
staff and immaculately maintained facilities. We are
very fortunate to have a staff of many excellent employees.
And we have acquired all the necessary tools and equipment
to properly repair your boat correctly and efficiently.
We realize that today's yachtsman expects knowledgeable
staff to provide consultations, guidance and quality
work.

Our reputation is built on communication with customers, quality
of work and our personal guarantee on all of our work. We have
established ourselves as the premier boat yard of North Carolina--
willing and capable to tackle any project you may have.
First To Receive "Clean Marina" Designation.
Deaton Yacht Service, Inc. was the first marina in North Carolina
to receive the "Clean
Marina" designation from the North Carolina Division
of Coastal Management. This program is strictly voluntary and
it gives us the opportunity to show our commitment toward environmental
responsibility.
Deaton Yachts is a Stocking Dealer for Major Brand Engines.
We stock parts for Yanmar, Westerbeke, Northern Lights,
Universal and Volvo. We either have in stock or can order just
about anything you might need for your vessel. Contact our Parts
Department at parts@deatonyachts.com.
Yacht Brokerage.
Our personalized brokerage office works hand in hand with our
boatyard schedule. As a seller or a buyer of a yacht, you benefit
from the connection the brokers have with the service yard.
You will find our brokers are yachtsman with years of sea time,
and knowledgeable of all vessels.
Towboat Services.
We also offer
TOWBOAT/US towing services. With seven licensed captains
in our staff, we are willing and capable to provide tow
boat services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We have
two towing vessels, properly equipped to handle any towing
or salvage job that might come along.
