It's a rare boat that comes off the production line complete with each and every detail to suit the individual owner's needs. Liveaboards and long distance cruisers, in particular, often discover upgrades that would enhance their boat's performance, comfort and safety.

Deaton Yacht Service has just completed a very extensive list of modifications to two of our new Hunter owners' boats. Rob and Beverly Holton purchased a new Hunter 450 and have customized Shimmering Sea to suit their needs for coastal cruising. Kevin and Debbie Byrd have been outfitting their Hunter 450 Globetrotter for a cruise around the world.

The standard vinyl lifelines on Globetrotter were replaced with 1" stainless tubing. The stanchions were also extended to raise the upper tube for personal safety.
The kayak rack on Shimmering Sea provides storage for two kayaks and the dinghy can still be stored below the kayaks.		The standard Hunter stanchion base was reinforced. The deck plate was enlarged to provide more caulking area to prevent leaks.
